Off topic but…

OFF TOPIC BUT PROCEEDS BENEFIT HORSE RESCUES AND BANNING HORSE SLAUGHTER

Okay, yes, this is a bit off topic for me — no make that WAY OFF TOPIC — but yet again today I was asked by someone how I keep my sheets and other whites including white linen shirts, white pants including riding breaches, tea towels, cloth napkins, furniture slip covers, underwear, socks, bath sheets and towels, etc., so white.

She saw a duvet cover along with tea towels and pillow cases hanging on the line and she couldn’t get over how white they were.

She’d already checked out white towels in the bathroom and was sure that I never used them. (Along with a white shower curtain and white curtains on the window.) Well we do use the white towels. All the time.

AND with a big vegetable garden, horses, and other pets, things around here get plenty dirty.

Oh and don’t worry, you don’t need a clothes line. I like bath towels dried in the drier and mine are sparkling white.

For years I used the tiniest bit of bleach or regular OxiClean, but when I discovered this version of OxiClean <== USA (in Canada click here) — my whites went to another whole level. (I can’t find it in my local stores.)

Oh and it’s safe for things that are not all white, so t-shirts with printing, items that are colours with white stripes, socks with coloured borders, etc. It’s amazing how it will brighten and keep whites, white.

I use just a bit, about a finger nail depth in the scoop that comes with it, and I start the washing machine off with hot water to disolve it and then I switch the control to cold and add my whites. I get way more uses per container than are marked on the package.

I wash using my regular laundry soap and I like Arm and Hammer because it’s not tested on animals.

When I have something that is a little dingy, or I pick up something second hand, or something that is extra dirty…

Then I let everything agitate and before the tub empties, I stop the machine and let everything soak with the washer tub full, for at least a couple of hours or over night. But I also use it as a regular additive to my regular wash cycle.

(If you want to give something an extra boost you could start the wash in the morning before you go to work, and stop it before leaving the house, then re-start it when you get home from work.)

With my washer I can turn the agitation cycle back to the beginning after I soak — and let it agitate for the whole cycle.

Corporate provided network marketing website not working for you?

THE SITES PROVIDED FOR DISTRIBUTORS BY COMPANIES SUCK.

THERE I SAID IT…

I recently built a team of 1200 members, ALL through the cold market, meaning I didn’t talk to family and friends, I didn’t bring a team “over” from another network marketing company, and I didn’t spend money on advertising. The leads came through social media and…

Each of the following videos are only 4 to 6 minutes long, and each correspond to the areas where you are most likely going to see Yoast pointing out room for improvement.

To rank on Google, the BEST SEO (Seach Engine Optimization) practice is to make sure you have a unique title tag and description for each page of content on your website.

Write this down – Google ranks web pages, not web sites!

In general, I recommend that each page of content focus on ranking for 1 or 2 keywords maximum. Stay focused. Those keywords should be the basis of your title tag and meta description and should also be the clear theme of the content and creative (images, video) of the page.

When optimizing your pages don’t always go for the harder to rank broad keyword that defines your industry. Instead, build content around easier to rank longer tail keywords (2-3+ words in one search).

If you are going to go after a hard to rank keyword save that for your homepage and if you can’t rank in the top 5 pages of the search engine results change the title and meta descriptions until you can rank on the first (or second in some instances) page for a desirable keyword phrase

Ask Gary Vee About Instagram

95% of you will ignore this marketing strategy…

… becoming a humble practitioner, of where the attention of the consumer is. And if you have a moment, like we have right now, on Facebook and Instagram… you will win….

Like Gary Vee, I’m continually surprised that many business people have not fully embraced Instagram and if they are using it, in some cases they are trusting the management of their business Instagram accounts to their teenage children or as Gary states, to their “23 year old niece”.

That’s great IF your 23 year old niece is using Instagram to drive virtually unlimited traffic to your website and is monetizing Instagram for you, and if she is totally versed and vested in YOUR business, but if not, YOU need a fully flushed out Instagram marketing strategy.

Instagram is powerful when managed property and many, if not most entrepreneurs are under utilizing it.

But please don’t take my word for it. Take a few minutes and watch what Gary Vee has to say about Instagram in a recent keynote presentation.

It gets especially interesting around the 20 through the 30 minute mark.

Over 2 decades ago I learned to play a game, a mind set game that has helped me time and time again in my business.

I learned it listening to a set of 2 audio cassettes that were jam packed with other gems as well, and produced by a network marketing industry leader, by the name of Kay Smith.

Kay suggested that we start playing this “game” with our significant other, our children, our family members, our co-workers, employees or team mates, any one and every one in our life who would “sign off” on playing it with us.

If nothing else try playing it with yourself. It works, either way.

The rules are simple….

When someone who is okay with playing the game with you says anything that is negative, you have permission to say “Cancel, cancel”, and they in turn have to re-state what they just did in a positive manner.

In turn they have permission to say the same thing to you, when you state something in a negative fashion.

Once you play with others, you will find yourself playing it in your head with yourself.

It can be as simple as “Yuck, it’s raining again!”

Someone who is playing with you says “Cancel, cancel”, and you have to re-state what you just said in a positive way.

“Wow, more rain, we are so lucky that we won’t have drought conditions like other parts of the world are experiencing right now”.

OR

“Oh good, it’s raining again, I’m not going to have to irrigate the lawn!”.

OR

“I’m so glad that I have rubber boots and such a fabulous rain coat.”

Oh and if you don’t have any one playing with you, when a negative thought crosses your mind, you can talk to yourself. Tell yourself, “Cancel, cancel” and get in the habit of making yourself re-think that negative thought.

You Know YOU need a Blog AKA Website

UPDATE December 2018:

Over the years, I’ve used many tools to build websites and blogs and “opt in” pages, also referred to as “capture pages“.

I started out with free template based sites, then learned HTML, and moved forward and starting using the Word Press platform, even going so far as learning how to design my own themes and templates on that platform. (I’ve had a website since 1999.)

I subscribed to, and used things like Optimize Press, and Optin Monster and Elegant Themes AKA Divi ALL great tools, and I’m thankful that I had them to use at various times over my business career. Each have been extremely helpful.

BUT in the last number of months, I’ve been experimenting with, and starting to use something else that is so much easier than anything I’ve used before, and EXTREMELY effective. I’ve completely shifted and I’m now using a “new to me” system to build my businesses.

I started out with a free 14 day trial. Although I have to admit after watching a webinar, I knew I’d found a new set of tools to build online with. Oh, and they work for ANY business.
