Each night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, the goal is to have 2 million people show that even a small act of love, such as donating a new pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
According to Stats Canada more than 235,000 people in Canada experience homelessness in any given year, and 25,000 to 35,000 people may be experiencing homelessness on any given night
No matter where you live in the world — new socks and new underwear are among the items least likely to be donated to shelters for the homeless.
#socktober is the brain child of Kid President creator, Brad Montague.
